Boxfront
All-in-one media streaming system.
Boxfront is one TV screen for live TV, your server library, and files on the PC. Profiles keep each person’s list. You can search with a remote mic, open official apps, and save a title to the PC for when the network is down. Showcase mode uses sample titles only.
Who it is for
Families who want one living-room screen. Parents who get lost jumping between apps and inputs.
What it is not
Not a cable service. Not a channel pack. Not Plex or Jellyfin itself. It sits in front of your library and live feed.
On the screen
- Home rails for live favorites, recents, and newly added movies and shows
- Live TV guide with a locked channel column, scrolling times, search, and topic filters
- Library and Storage on separate tabs so local files are not mixed with the server
- Favorites by type, per profile, with a colored profile dot
- Apps tab for official streaming sites
- Voice: go to a tab, or say search and then the title
- Save a server title into your Movies or Shows folder for offline
- Cover art cached on the PC (server art plus local poster files)
- Optional VPN check before the server library loads
- Backup live-TV source if the first feed is busy
- Player overlay: volume, skip, fullscreen; fades after a few seconds
- Phone or tablet on the same Wi-Fi opens the PC address in the browser
- Showcase demo with original sample titles; stays on across refresh
FAQ
- Is this a cable replacement?
- No. It is a front for media you already have: local files, a Jellyfin library, and a live feed you provide.
- Does it include channels?
- No. Channel lineups come from your own live source. The public demo uses a sample guide.
- Can parents use it?
- That is the point. Easy layout first. Advanced settings stay behind the gear.
- Can I buy it today?
- No. It is in development. Follow Jetisys for progress.
- Will it run on a phone?
- The same Wi-Fi can open the PC in Safari. A store app is not shipping yet.
- Does it work if the internet drops?
- Titles you saved to the PC still play from Storage. Live TV and the remote server need a network.
Follow Jetisys
Showcase footage uses original sample titles. Boxfront does not sell live channels. Use only libraries and live sources you have the right to play. Intended for adults setting up a home screen. Not a toy.
